Radio Stations

I hear a lot of idiotic things, but driving home today topped the year so far.

This radio host was talking about how Arizona was the last state in the US to adopt Martin Luther King Day as a holiday.  That’s wrong by the way.  It was New Hampshire; Utah was the last state to call it by name (previously Civil Rights Day).

What topped everything was what this person said afterwards:  ”Arizona is also the only state to end in an ‘A.’”  There was a unanimous agreement from the two other hosts!

I…

WHAT?!?!?!?!

Oh, so Alabama, Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia (20 out of 50 states?!) don’t count at all, I suppose.

Amneeeeesiaaaaaaa!

Lil Update on the goings ons

I had my wisdom teeth taken out on the 14th, which was two days after the school semester ended.  I thought, pfffttttttttt ive had surgeries more complicated than this i will be back to normal in a couple days hahahaha

I had my overconfident ass handed to me.  When I finally thought I was gettin over it, it decided to give my arm one last twist, and landed me with a headache that made me sleep for days.

So now I’m back after falling off the face of the earth for several months due to school stress, resurfacing, then disappearing just as quickly!

Just in time to say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, What-Have-You!

:D  Cheers!

Today I fell asleep sitting up.

When I woke up, the first thing I saw was my nose.  Except the lighting made it look yellow.

For about three seconds, I was terrified of my own nose.

A few days ago, I was booking it back to my car.  As I took the keys out of my jeans pocket, my fingers decided not to hold onto them any more.

I punted those things halfway down the hallway.

By the FORCE!

Today during a lecture in Intl Pols while we were discussing the last few chapters from Theories of International Politics and Zombies…I do the fastest double-take of my life.

I notice

My professor.

Has the symbol of the Rebel Alliance.

Tattooed on her ankle.

She’s a Star Wars fan, and we’re talking about how military and pharmacies would handle a Z-pocalypse.

I

I told Chevy a while back that I’d post an area  that give me inspiration.  This is in the foreign language building on campus.  You can access it by going to the basement level.  The doors lead into two walled enclosures outside.

It’s really pretty when you’re lying on your back on the stone bench, but all the doors were locked so I couldn’t get a nice ant’s eye view of it. :(

About a month ago, we found a camel spider in the house.
Aka these things:

Although ours was about an inch long, they can still get pretty big…

But last Friday I had a different visitor.

Why HELLO there, black widow spider!  I see you decided to make your home on my bicycle.  Unfortunately for you, this is how I get around campus, so will you kindly leave?

The web had been there for a week from when I first noticed it, meaning it could’ve been there for a considerable while longer.

I tried.  I really did.  I don’t like killing things, period.  If a fly gets in the house, I catch it in a plastic bag and release it when I go outside.  For ten minutes straight I stood around in our furnace of a garage trying to get it to crawl into that bucket that sitting behind the wheel there. While this is going on, my sister is standing on the opposite side of the garage with bug spray.  She won’t come any closer.

Long story short I ended up using the bug spray.  I wheeled my bike into the driveway after a futile attempt trying to get all the webbing off.  Hosing it down did nothing, so I was forced to pick it off with my fingers.  Did you know webs of black widow spiders are ridiculously strong?

While I was dragging my fingers on the concrete trying to get the web off my hand, my sister found the male black widow, and WOOP, he was dead!  Not fresh dead.  Dry dead.  High probability of an egg sac somewhere.

My sister basically sprayed the whole can of Raid in that area, and we looked all over that side of the garage but couldn’t find anything.   I thought, “Oh, well that’s nice!  One less thing we have to deal with.”  As I walk out to pull my car back in, I look up and there’s a dead moth hanging by some spider webs right above my head.  I say something stupid like, “Ugh, I never want to look up again,” and proceed onward.

My sister looks up (standing at a different angle that I was) and she finds TWO egg sacs inside of the garage door.  After a whole ordeal of getting them down and squishing them, I pull in my car, open the door, put one foot down, and spot another female black widow crawling frantically away through the puddle of Raid.

We ended up not being able to find that one.  I give up, go inside, and have lunch.

…Yesterday I found a new web in the same area.

I ripped off the crust and my toast turned into a brain.

What

I leave myself notes for story ideas, etc.
Most of these are done at night when I’m so tired I’m almost drooling on the keyboard.
This is what I left myself last night:

(and he will ______ b/c of reasons)

.

I don’t know what this is supposed to mean.

Help.

I just looked up the required reading for the fall semester, and look what International Politics has in store for me:

…I think I will enjoy this class.
